Job Overview

Position: Deputy Manager (Legal)

Required Qualification & Experience:

The ideal candidate must possess a minimum qualification of Bachelor’s in Law (LLB), preferably with a Master in Law (LLM) from HEC recognized universities.

A solid foundation in substantive law along with 08 years of experience (including 02 years in post Master relevant field) in corporate law, regulatory or commercial affairs is essential.

Applicants with a deep understanding of legal and regulatory affairs associated with the Power Sector’s Laws, Rules & Regulations etc., are highly desirable. Knowledge of power/energy sales and purchases will be given priority.

Job Profile:

The Deputy Manager (Legal) will play a pivotal role in recommending Counsels’ fees, managing a record of advocates, and engaging with Counsels based on their performance and merit.

They will be responsible for submitting monthly progress reports, referring cases to the Legal Advisor for candid legal opinions when necessary, and assisting the Chief Law Officer / GEPCO Management in all matters of Legal & Labour.

This role demands a proactive approach, ensuring all legal and regulatory compliance within the organization.

Reporting Channel:

Reporting directly to the Chief Law Officer (CLO) GEPCO, the Deputy Manager (Legal) will be an integral part of the legal team, contributing to the strategic direction of the legal department.

Terms & Conditions:

Pay & Allowances: The selected candidate will be offered a market-based competitive package.

Tenure: The appointment will be on a contract basis, initially for a period of three (3) years, renewable on satisfactory performance by the Board of Directors GEPCO.

General Instructions:
